'Assassin's Creed: Syndicate' Initial Details Revealed, More Details to Come on May 12

Prior to the official reveal by Ubisoft, details of the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" game have been initially revealed. Ubisoft is set to reveal more about the game which is titled "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" on May 12. A report in Tech Times shared some initial details of the game.

The first detail is the final title of the game, which is different from the title that was leaked sometime towards the end of 2014. The title mentioned in the reported leak was "Assassin's Creed Victory," but this was apparently changed to the current title. Another detail however confirmed what was mentioned in the earlier leak about the game's setting. The game will definitely be set in Victorian London, during the Industrial Revolution. The reported leak hinted this as well.

The main character in this game is Jacob Frye who will of course be the assassin in the game. Based on pictures shared by Ubisoft on their US website, the character will be equipped with brass knuckles. The pictures were also accompanied by phrases like "God Save the Queen" and "Strength Through Loyalty."

This game is the ninth game in the "Assassin's Creed" series, which is described as a historical fiction action-adventure open world stealth video game. All of the games in the series are set in a specific period of history, and revolves around the age-old conflict between the Assassins and the Knight Templars. The game series generally employs a mission structure wherein the protagonist needs to complete an assassination of public figureheads or a covert mission, or can also go on side missions like mapping, collecting treasures, and other simpler tasks.

The series, according to the report, has its own loyal following, and thus this new game is highly anticipated by loyal fans. For some gamers however, the report also noted that the frequency by which Ubisoft releases new games in the series may be a problem, because of the game's long campaigns which meant that some gamers have yet to finish one game, then along comes a new game in the series. The upcoming game is said to have a campaign mode that will last for 20 hours or more.

Ubisoft Quebec developed the game instead of Ubisoft Montreal.
