Asus Unveils Five New ZenFones At IFA 2015
The Asus ZenFone line just got bigger. The Taiwanese company unveiled five new ZenFone models at the recent IFA 2015 and they are called the Zoom, Deluxe, Selfie, Max and Laser, according to a report in Tech Times.
The most prominent among the new devices is the Zoom, mainly because of its one-of-a-kind main camera. According to GSM Arena, the phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera, a 10-element Hoya lens and 3x optical zoom capacity. The camera is found at the back of the device and can be distinguished because of the device's slight "camera hump." The camera's lens, according to the description, is a periscope type which allows for a thinner phone at 12 mm. The phone has a metal body and weighs in at 185 grams.
The camera is equipped with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus which allows for fast focus in under 0.2 seconds, as well as a Panasonic SmartFSI image sensor. It's possible to extend the 3x optical zoom to 12x digitally. Its flash mechanism is dual-LED and it has a dual shutter key arrangement which is usually not found on phone cameras. This phone will be released mainly in European markets.
The ZenFone 2 Deluxe is distinct from the ZenFone 2 because of its 3D pattern design on the back of the phone, giving it a premium and deluxe feel. The tessellated design, according to GSM Arena, is reportedly based on natural crystals. The phone comes in two colors, Illusion Blue and Illusion White. Under the hood, however, it's merely a replica of the original ZenFone 2, with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and a quad-core Intel processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage however, the phone comes in 64 GB and 128 GB versions, bigger than what is on offer in the smartphone market generally.
The ZenFone Max has a bigger battery capacity than most phones on offer. This one has a 5,000 mAh battery which is guaranteed to keep any smartphone user happy. Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon processor that runs at 1.2 GHz.
The ZenFone Selfie is true to its name. It is made for smartphone users who are also selfie-lovers. Both the rear and the front cameras are 13-megapixel cameras with the same sensors.
The ZenFone Laser on the other hand is based on the ZenFone 2 specifications, but this one has laser autofocus for its 13-megapixel rear camera.
