As of right now, the Hawks hold a 2-1 series advantage over the Knicks and are looking to take the series with a win at home. On the other hand, the Knicks are trying to even the series up and try to get a big win against a tough Eastern Conference squad.
In their first meeting at Madison Square Garden, the Hawks won a comfortable 112-101 match after a great first quarter which saw them lead by double figures.
They would maintain the pressure to keep the Knicks at bay to get the win.
Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 23 points and eight assists, while Carmelo Anthony had a good game in a losing effort as he had 25 points and seven rebounds.
When the scene shifted to Atlanta, the Hawks started slow and allowed the Knicks to take a double-digit lead after the first quarter. However, they were able to bounce back by outscoring New York in the last three quarters to eventually take the game going away 117-98.
Anthony had 18 points and 12 rebounds in the loss, while Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Fortunately for New York, they were finally able to get a win over Atlanta in their most recent match-up when they hosted their rivals.
It was through a great second quarter in which the Knicks pulled away and they were able to keep the momentum to win 111-97.
Arron Afflalo had a great game with 38 points, while Millsap had a steady 19 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
