Behind them are Atletico who have three points, while Galatasaray and Astana are on the bottom half with one point each.

Only two teams are guaranteed a spot in the next round of the competition, while the third placers are relegated to the UEFA Europa League.

Astana have found it difficult in the European competition so far as they are placed against the best of the continent.

They opened their group stage campaign against Benfica and fell 2-0 after allowing the Portuguese club to score twice in the first parts of the second half of their match in Lisbon.

In their next game they went head-to-head against Galatasaray at home and were extremely lucky to come out with a point.

Galatasaray took the lead in the first half and it was only with less than 20 minutes left was the equaliser found.

However, the last two goals were own goals committed by both teams as the match eventually ended 2-2.

Now facing the favourites in the group, things will not be easier for the Kazakhstan outfit.

Meanwhile, Atletico got off to the perfect start in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-0 win over Galatasaray.

Antoine Griezmann scored twice inside 10 minutes to give them the big 2-0 lead and maximum points.

In their second match, they hosted Benfica and Angel Correa scored to give them the lead early but Atletico failed to hold on as they allowed two goals to Benfica as they went down 2-1.

Now they will look to solidify their position in the top two with a win over Astana.
