At the moment, Madrid and Benfica hold the top two spots in the table as they are the only teams who have registered points so far.

Madrid began their Champions League campaign away from home as they faced Galatasaray.

Two early goals set the tone for the match as Antoine Griezmann scored in the 18th and 25th minutes of the game to give the Spanish club a comfortable lead.

From there, they would maintain their pressure and stop any attack from Galatasaray as they tried to make a comeback.

On the other hand, Benfica started at home when they welcomed Astana. Unlike Madrid, their two goals came in the second half of the match as Nicolas Gaitan and Kostas Mitroglou scored in the 51st and 62nd minutes, respectively, to give Benfica the cushion they needed.

They held on to 67% of the possession to stop any kind of resurgence that Astana wanted to have to come back to the game.

Their current form is also impressive heading to their clash against Atletico Madrid as Benfica have only lost once in their last five matches and currently find themselves third in the Portuguese Premier League.

Atletico Madrid have slipped off the top of the Spanish La Liga and find themselves fifth at the moment after suffering their first loss in their last four matches.
