AT&T is Now Unlocking iPhones
AT&T is now unlocking customers' iPhones so they can be used on other carriers, according to a recent statement made by the company.
"Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones," said AT&T. "The only requirements are that a customer's account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee."
And for customers who paid the no-commitment price, AT&T will unlock your phone as well.

This news comes shortly after the filing of many complaints from Apple iPhone users who have fulfilled their agreement with the carrier and now wish to go elsewhere.
The unlocking began last week at Apple with the company's CEO, Tim Cook, taking requests from customers who wished to unlock their devices. Now it seems that the torch has been passed to AT&T.
AT&T has been the primary carrier for what is arguably the world's most popular smartphone since the original version's launch back in 2007. With the iPhone 4 and 4S gaining much popularity, over the past few years, the device has gone on to become the best selling smartphone in the U.S.
However, T-Mobile still does not carry the iPhone. It is the only major carrier within the U.S. to not have it. So by AT&T allowing the unlocking, their customers can now make a jump over to the company it was supposed to merge with last year.
The next generation iPhone is expected to launch sometime around the summer of this year.
It is rumored to be called the new iPhone and have a 4-inch display, 4G LTE and a quad-core processor.
