'Attack on Titan 2' News: Producer Hints at Scarier Titans in Upcoming Sequel

Titans transform into more terrifying creatures in the upcoming "Attack on Titan 2" game.

The "Attack on Titan" team continues to make improvements on the sequel as it prepares to debut on multiple platforms soon. According to reports, Omega Force is tweaking the Titan's artificial intelligence (AI) enemy — paving the way for a scarier version of the characters.

"Because we really focused on the anime fans, the difficulty level [for Attack on Titan] was a little easier than what traditional game fans are used to," producer Hisashi Koinuma told Polygon. "The threatening menace of the titans wasn't as strong, so for the second game we're currently working on that."

He continued, "To add that element of fear and to make it more like the original comic. You don't know when the titans will attack, you're constantly in this state of fear."

For a more thrilling gameplay experience, Omega Force will offer an improved version of the omni-directional mobility gear. It gives players advanced freedom of movement as well as better targeting precision.

Additionally, Omega Force manager Hideo Suzuki revealed the developer is working to offer more difficulty options in the game. This ensures that players who liked the easier action of the first installment will not feel left out. Suzuki further said anime fans who have been following the manga and TV series can expect extra narrative on "Attack on Titan 2."

PC Gamer points out that based on the game's storyline, titans do not eat humans just for the purpose of nourishment. Once they have consumed enough humans, titans will vomit huge slimy balls known as "hairballs." Koei promised to give further details about the game, including new mechanics and release date, in the coming weeks.

Developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, "Attack on Titan 2" will officially debut early 2018 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
