'Attack on Titan' Playstation Teaser Revealed, Game to Be Released Next Year
Video gamers who are looking forward to catching the heroes of the latest live-action "Attack on Titan" movie, which is currently playing in cinemas nationwide in Japan, are in for a treat. As a part of GamesCom 2015, an announcement has been made that there is going to be a new "Attack on Titan" video game. It appears to be much more in keeping with tone of its source material compared to the movie, according to reports.
"I am very happy to reveal we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful Attack on Titan," stated Hisashi Koinuma, President of Koei Tecmo Games.
Publisher Koei Tecmo has just released a teaser trailer for the newly announced action console video game based on the smash hit anime series "Attack on Titan" created by manga artist Hajime Isayam. In the short teaser video, it can be seen that the game will be a return to the emanation of heroic youths casting themselves at their colossal enemy.
According to Movie Pilot, Koei Tecmo initiating the expansion of the franchise to console-based games could mean that the game will feature an open melee platform, letting players to take Titans head-on without turn-based gameplay. The game will also use a cell-shaded style unlike the realistic look utilized by the 3DS game "Humanity in Chains".
There are no news yet as to what the genre of the game will be. Fans are waiting for formal announcement but since it's being developed by Omega Force, the Koei Tecmo team behind the company's best-selling "Warriors" family of titles, there are assumptions that "Attack on Titan" is going to be an action game.
The release date is going to be in 2016. There is no info yet about overseas releases, but Koei Tecmo will most likely create an English version of the game, Rocket News 24 reported.
