'Attack on Titan' Season 2 News: Two Films to Be Released Before New Season Premieres
In less than a month, fans will finally see what happens in "Attack on Titan" season 2. Before the new installment premieres, two new films are set to be unleashed to the big screen.
According to Polygon, Funimation has announced that two recap movies will be released in various select theaters. The 120-minute films titled "Jiyuu no Tsubasa" and "Guren no Yumiya" will be aired for fans to see. Fans are encouraged to visit the select theaters listed on the publisher's official website as the movies will only be out for one night.
Fans can check out some of the following cinemas: Alamo Drafthouse Richardson, Richardson TX; Carmel Mountain 12, San Diego CA; Angelika Film Center and Café, Dallas TX; Manville 12, Manville NJ; Village East Cinemas, New York NY; Tower Theatre, Sacramento CA; Victoria Ward All Stadium Cinemas 16, Honolulu HI; and Kapolei Theatres 16, Kapolei HI.
The reason why Funimation is pushing for fans to watch the screening of "Guren no Yumiya" on March 27 and "Jiyuu no Tsubasa" on either March 28 or 29 is because there will be a teaser at the end of the second movie. The short trailer will be a featurette for "Attack on Titan" season 2.
IGN confirmed early last month that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will premiere on April 1. The new installment was supposed to premiere last year but production had to be pushed back. This time, the release of new episodes is real.
The outlet notes that fans will see a new monster in the upcoming installment. Not much is known about this new creature yet but there have been rumors suggesting that the new monster could be the Beast Titan. The official trailer for the upcoming season also confirmed that viewers will still see some of their favorite characters.
"Attack on Titan" was written by Hajime Isayama. The anime's music was produced by Hiroyuki Sawano and production for the small screen series was handled by Wit Studio and Production I.G.
