'Attack on Titan' Season 2 News, Updates: Other Survey Corps Members Take Center Stage; Wall Rose Secrets Revealed
After a series of delays, fans of "Attack on Titan" will finally get to see Eren back in action. The series returns in April for its sophomore season.
In a recent interview with the Newtype Magazine, the anime creators talked about what fans should expect when the show returns. According to director Koizuka Masashi, he previously sat down with chief director Araki Tetsuro to discuss the highlights of the upcoming season. The directors revealed that in season 2, characters who were not highlighted in the previous season will now take center stage.
"We will be exploring characters who did not have key roles in the first season. Of course, we're doing our best to not create those scenes with solely exposition — we want to incorporate dialogue seamlessly into the overall theme of the story. Our staff implemented many techniques and used plenty of film to accomplish this," revealed Koizuka.
Araki went on to say that after taking a look at their final work, he described season 2 as an incredible piece of work. The two directors said that while season 1 heavily focused on the stories of Mikasa and Armin, the upcoming season will shift its focus to the other members of the Survey Corps.
The official promotional video for season 2 features an ominous group of Titans approaching Wall Rose. In the anime, this wall serves as the second outermost layer of protection of humanity. Fans will see if the wall will be strong enough to protect the humans from bloodbath in season 2, as the Titans are set to bring nothing but devastation along their path.
The trailer also teases that the mysteries surrounding Wall Rose will finally be revealed.
"Attack on Titan" season 2 is expected to arrive on Saturday, April 1 on MBS.
