'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Volume 15, 16 Landing December 2014, April 2015

Wit Studio has confirmed that it will be releasing the prequel anime "Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi" to come bundled with volumes 15 and 16 of the main storyline manga. Volume 15 is set for a Dec. 29 release this year while Volume 16 will be released on April 15, 2015.

The prequel anime will be explaining the story of Legion Commander Erwin Smith when he was still a budding star in the Scouting Legion. The anime will also be showing the fated meeting of the future Commander and then criminal, Captain Levi.

The manga spin-offs will be based on the manga written by Hajime Isayama called "Shingeki no Kyojin Gaiden – Kuinaku Sentaku" (Attack on Titan: The Thief and the Soldier).

The second season of the widely popular anime adaptation of the manga, "Attack on Titan," was initially slated for a July 2015 release. Those dates have been confirmed false and there are now rumors that the second season will be seeing an August 2015 release.

"Attack on Titan," or in Japanese "Shingeki No Kyojin," is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth where humanity is driven to the brink of extinction by man-eating giants called Titans. The story revolves around Eren Jaeger, a soldier in the Scouting Legion who swore to wipe Titans off the Earth after seeing his mother perish in the hands of one when he was younger. The manga series was written by Hajime Isayama.

The first season of the anime first aired in Japan on April 7, 2013 and ran until September 28, 2013. Fans have been anticipating a second season for some time now.
