AT&T’s 4G LTE Network Spotted in New York City, Again
The New York City area is not supposed to have access to AT&T’s 4G LTE network until 2012.
However, a Christian Post staffer with the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket recently connected the LTE network while using his device in downtown Manhattan on Nov. 18.
The incident seemed like a fluke at first; however, on Friday Dec. 2, it happened once again, but this time in Staten Island while boarding the Staten Island Ferry.

AT&T recently hinted to The Christian Post that it is most likely testing the new network in the Big Apple and this is the reason why the staffer’s phone has encountered the 4G LTE connections.
Once again, the staffer experienced lighting speeds on the Internet browser with websites loading in mere milliseconds.
He also reconnected with the 4G LTE network just an hour later upon arrival to downtown Manhattan.
Sprint recently hinted to CNet that it was working on its own 4G LTE network attempting to have it ready by sometime in 2012.
AT&T plans to service over 90 percent of the country with 4G LTE over the course of the next year.
Both of these carriers seem to be focused on expanding the network to accommodate the iPhone 5 that is expected to be an LTE device.
Sprint recently began carrying the iPhone 4S and has had a great amount of success with it.
The company likely wants to continue that success by being fully prepared for the next generation model.
AT&T was the original carrier for the iPhone.
