Avalanche Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment havw just released 80 minutes worth of gameplay for their upcoming third-person action title, "Mad Max."

Scheduled for launch on Sept. 1, the same day as the highly-anticipated Konami installment, "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain," Avalanche is upping the ante on the competition by giving away gameplay footage via a live-stream presentation on GamesHQMedia.

The one-hour 20-minute long clip presented a number of new features, including customization, new modes, and Death Runs.

The gamplay also reiterates that fuel remains a very precious resource on "Mad Max," and if players do run out, their vehicles won't cease running completely, but will move forward in slow-motion speed. Despite the slow going, this ensures players won't be excluded from road battles where they'll get a chance to disable other vehicles and siphon the gas off them for their own cars.

The gameplay footage also reveals the blow-em-up strategy to retrieve scrap parts from other cars, or drive them further away from the action to the nearest stronghold to receive bonus scrap material.

Death Run races will allow players to complete specific game objectives while running against other opponents. There will be a timed bomb strapped to the back of the chosen vehicle, giving a certain time limit allowed to finish each race.

Earlier on during the game's unveiling, Avalanche revealed the game's vehicle customization features. This time around, the gameplay footage shows how players can customize Max himself, from his facial hair all the way to his clothes and armor. He can also be upgraded to have Batman fighting skills during skirmishes, with players given the option to earn tokens that can unlock new abilities for Max via the local Shaman.

"Mad Max" is expected to be released two weeks from now on PC, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
