'Avengers: Infinity War' Cast News: Michael Rooker Confirms Involvement Through Instagram

"Avengers: Infinity War" is rapidly becoming known for being the biggest superhero film to ever be made, with a long list of A-list actors receiving star billing. So it comes as no surprise that another name has been added to the cast: Michael Rooker's.

Rooker confirmed the news himself through a photo he posted on Instagram. Much like Pom Klementieff and Sean Gunn, Rooker shared a selfie of himself at Starbucks wearing an "Infinity War" beanie. He also confirmed his location in Georgia, which happens to be where the upcoming film is shooting.

The actor followed it up with a photo of his hand colored in the same blue shade that his character sports in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies. This means that Rooker is reprising his role as Yondu in the third "Avengers" film. It is unknown, though, if he will also make it to the fourth, which is shooting back-to-back with "Infinity War" in Atlanta, Georgia.

News of Rooker's involvement in "Infinity War" soon erupted online—and Rooker definitely noticed. More recently, he posted another photo of himself in the makeup trailer with the "Infinity War" logo covered in tape. "They made me put the tape on," he jokingly captioned the image.

Several actors and actresses have already been confirmed to return for "Avengers: Infinity War." A recent in-production video revealed that Tom Holland will also be back as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. Benedict Cumberbatch, who only debuted as the eponymous Doctor Strange in November 2016, will likewise be putting his cape on for the upcoming ensemble film.

Speaking to Collider about his involvement in "Infinity War," Cumberbatch refrained from giving away any spoilers but did express his excitement about the film.

"What else could I be expected to say except that I'm thrilled. I feel like I've said it all before," the actor gushed. "That's all I can really say today, you know. But I'm genuinely really, really excited. I've got a lot of fun to look forward with the Infinity Wars and I'm sure with his own standalone film again."

"Avengers: Infinity War" will bring together the Earth's mightiest heroes to face the galactic threat that is Josh Brolin's Thanos. It is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018.
