'Avengers: Infinity War' Plot News, Release Date: One-Eyed Thor to Sport Same Eye Patch; Will the Hulk Return to Banner Form?

Plot details of "Avengers: Infinity War" remain under wraps at this time. However, thanks to "Thor: Ragnarok," fans know what to expect from the God of Thunder.

Fans who have already seen "Thor: Ragnarok" know that Chris Hemsworth's titular character lost his right eye courtesy of Hela (Cate Blanchett). While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor confirmed that Thor will still be rocking only one eye in "Infinity War."

"Yeah we carry it into the film with the eye patch you see in this film," Hemsworth said.

Director Taika Waititi also revealed that the decision to have Thor go through so much was intentional. Hela is a powerful being, and it would not have made sense for Thor to defeat her easily. In fact, he had to resort to bringing Ragnarok upon Asgard in order to stop his deranged sister from winning.

"That kind of just evolved just throughout the script process, to just keep stripping that character down, having him lose the hammer and all those things and to kind of create a broken version of the character. At the end, he sort of becomes a refugee," Waititi said.

In "Thor: Ragnarok," Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) also expressed his concern that he may not turn back into his human form should the Hulk take over once more. Still, he chose to channel his green alter ego once again in order to help save the Asgardian people. By the end of the movie, the Hulk was seen on the spaceship alongside Thor.

Some have grown concerned that Banner may not ever return, proving the multi-PhD holder's worries correct. However, as CinemaBlend points out, Ruffalo is part of the "Infinity War" cast, and it does not seem likely that he was only asked to return to provide motion capture work.

The battle against Thanos is nearing and was even teased in the mid-credits scene of "Thor: Ragnarok." With only "Black Panther" left in Marvel's roster before the premiere of "Infinity War," fans are getting understandably excited.

"Avengers: Infinity War" will premiere in U.S. cinemas on May 4, 2018.
