'Avengers: Infinity Wars' – Will they? Won't they?

Fans of the "Avengers" series have long been speculating if the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers from S.H.I.E.L.D. will finally meet up and fight together. Rumours about the way "Avengers: Infinity Wars" is going on leads to a small hope that maybe they will meet up for Marvel Cinematic Universe's twin blasts scheduled for 2018 and 2019.

As fans know, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy are just that – they guard the galaxies from super villains and from other threats in space. The "Avengers" are earth-bound and members of S.H.I.E.L.D. These two teams can only meet if the Avengers go to space or the Guardians of the Galaxy pay a visit to Earth.

There is a possibility of that happening as Thanos, the purple giant and main super villain is connected to both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Josh Brolin, as Thanos/Mad Titan, made a small appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and also had a small part in "Avengers: Age of the Ultron." He was depicted as the mastermind behind the Chitauri Attacks. Another fact to be noted is that the sequel for "Guardians of the Galaxy" is up for release in May 2017.

The plot of "Avengers: Infinity Wars" has the Earth's mightiest superheroes fighting Thanos, that is the Mad Titan, and trying to stop him from collecting the Infinity Stones. Once Thanos collects these stones, he becomes god and no one can stop him. These Infinity Stones are also a link between the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. These stones are the core of the six singularities that existed in the universe prior to the Big Bang - space, time, reality, mind, power and soul. A being in possession of these stones can control the six elements and become god. Now, Thanos is moving towards collecting these stones to make up the Infinity Gauntlet.

All these factors definitely have a space adventure feel to it.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, had commented on this in an interview with IGN. He said, "Part of the fun of the comics is that could happen. Any character could interact with any other character because they inhabit the same time period and the same universe. And certainly it is the inclusion of Thanos most specifically that is a declaration to audiences who are paying attention that this is connected to those other universes. Part of the fun is that it could happen someday. I don't know when that would be. Or maybe I know, and I'm not going to tell you!"

In this case, we will just have to wait for more rumours trickling in and we will keep you updated.
