Avril Lavigne Engaged to Nickleback Frontman; What Happened to Brody Jenner?
Singer Avril Lavigne is engaged to Nickleback frontman Chad Kroeger, after dating for only six months. The news has come as a great surprise to fans, since Lavigne was last linked to Brody Jenner.
"He makes her so happy," a family friend told People magazine. "Both of their families could not be more excited."
The rest of the world is still reeling from the news as the couple kept their relationship under the radar and very few knew that they were even dating. Lavigne last had a very public relationship with reality star Brody Jenner, but that ended earlier this year, MTV reported.

Though the relationship ended, Lavigne may still have a permanent reminder of her time with Jenner. The couple got matching tattoos of each other's names on their torsos.
Kroeger proposed on August 8 with a 14-carat diamond ring, making a huge splash. The couple has yet to speak publicly about the engagement, but fans have taken to Twitter and Facebook to express their best wishes for the couple.
"Amazing news! Congratulations!" tweeted @stevefekete.
Lavigne and Kroeger reportedly met while working on her a new song on her latest album. "A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together," Lavigne's friend told People.
It will be the second marriage for Lavigne, and the first for Kroeger. Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41's Deryck Whibley. The couple split in 2009, after three years of marriage.
"Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half-years," Lavigne posted on MySpace. "I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."
Lavigne's announcement comes on the same day as Brody Jenner's birthday, which some may see as the ultimate revenge. She has publicly said her latest album is inspired by her former beau, who is, as far as everyone knows, still single.
