More than 300 Baptists from around the world are expected to gather in Northern Virginia next week to celebrate, have fellowship, and identify challenges for the future.
The Baptist World Alliance's annual "Window on the World conference," which coincides with the group's executive committee meeting, is one of the first international gatherings sponsored by the BWA since its 100th year in Birmingham, England, last July.
David Coffey, the new president who was inaugurated during the Centenary Congress last year, will present his outlook on the "Challenges for the BWA in the New Century" at the Mar. 4 conference.
Other high-profile attendants include BWA General Secretary Denton Lotz and Baptist World Aid Director Paul Montacute. Members of the executive committee representing regions around the world will also attend the conference, providing a chance for local Baptist participants to fellowship with international Baptist leaders.
