Barbara Walters Blasts Kardashians About Poor Decisions
Although Barbara Walters named the Kardashians one of the 10 most fascinating people of the year, she did not hold back on questioning the family about their rise to fame amid sex and scandal.
The “10 Most Fascinating People of 2011” special aired on ABC recently, with Steve Jobs appearing as Walters’ top selection. However, her interview with Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Kris Kardashian revealed the answers to controversial questions many people may have wondered about.
Walters questioned the stars’ rise to fame, which was propelled by a 2007 sex tape that was released of Kim and her ex-boyfriend. With product lines, television shows and spin-offs taking form after the tape’s release, Walters asked Kim about her decision to create an intimate recording.

“So, was it a good thing to have done?" Walters asked Kim.
Seemingly flustered with watery eyes, Kim answered with the help of her mother and manager.
“Whatever you do, you might think,” Kim began. “I've made mistakes in my life for sure.”
Kris interjected for her daughter, saying, “You learned a lot from that.”
Walters on the other hand attempted to learn what was behind the appeal of the women who she said were ”a strange mix of trashy sex, upscale excess, tabloid melodrama and suburban family life."
The journalist asked the four reality television stars about their appeal, since they do not have any conventional talents.
“'You don't really act; you don't sing; you don't dance,” Walters told them. “You don't have any - forgive me - any talent!”
Although the women did not look happy with Walters’ observations, they agreed with her.
“None of us think we have talent,” Khloe said. “None of us think we can sing or act or dance.”
Kourtney responded by saying, “we don’t disagree.”
Kim, however, defended her family’s line of work.
“I think it's more of a challenge for you to go on a reality show, and get people to fall in love with you for being you,” Kim said.
However, Walters echoed the sentiments of many who have watched the Kardashians on their small screens.
“There’s something about the multi-million dollar empire known as the Kardashians that really gets under people's skin,” Walters said. “But I've got to tell you, I don't think the Kardashians mind one bit."
