Barcelona vs Bayer Leverkusen Live Stream: Watch UEFA Champions League Online
Bayer Leverkusen are on top of the group.
Bayer Leverkusen try to remain atop Group E of the UEFA Champions League as they meet Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The group stage match will be on September 29, 2015 at 2:45 PM ET.
Group E is in its early stages and after the first matches for the teams, Bayer are atop with three points, Barcelona and AS Roma are two points behind and BATE are fourth with no points registered as of yet.
The Bundesliga club won their first match when they met the Belarusian squad at home.
Admir Mehmedi scored for Bayer in the fourth minute of the match to give them an early cushion.
However, it was erased less than 10 minutes later as the score was 1-1 by the end of the first half.
In the second frame, Bayer turned things on and went on a scoring rampage as Hakan Calhanoglu scored only two minutes after the game's restart.
Javier Hernandez made it 3-1 before the 60th minute of the match and it was clear that Bayer had the points secured.
Calhanoglu scored his brace in the 75th minute via penalty kick and now the German club will look to make Barcelona their second victim.
On the other hand, the defending champions were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw when they faced Italian side AS Roma.
Luis Suarez scored in the 21st minute to give the Catalans the lead away from home, but 10 minutes later Alessandro Florenzi equalised.
Roma were able to stop any more attacks from Barcelona to share the spoils and now the Spaniards are looking to beat Bayer to move atop the table.
Unfortunately for them, they will try to do it without their best player as Lionel Messi is slated to be out for at least seven weeks after tearing a ligament in his knee in a La Liga match against Las Palmas.
His absence will undoubtedly play a big role in the match for both teams.
