'Basketball Wives' Fired: Jackie Christie Staying, Govan Sisters Out?
"Basketball Wives LA" producers have reportedly started implementing drastic changes for season three of the hit Vh1 reality TV show as new reports suggest that a majority of cast members are being axed.
It has been claimed that Malaysia Pargo, new comer Brooke Bailey and sisters Gloria and Laura Govan will not be asked to return for season three, leaving only Draya Michele and Jackie Christie as the remaining cast mates, according to TMZ.
The report comes just one week after executive producer Shaunie O'Neal hinted that she would be giving the reality TV show a "complete makeover," following an alleged ratings decline. It has also been claimed that producers were growing increasingly frustrated because some cast members were not allowing for "all of their reality to be filmed."
In September it was revealed that Gloria, 27, had married her long time boyfriend Matt Barnes, 32, in Las Vegas before family and friends. Producers were not informed about the couple's nuptials which reportedly led to her firing.
O'Neal, who also stars in the franchise's Miami spinoff show, recently addressed growing criticism about season two of "BBWLA" after receiving a complaint from a viewer via social networking site Twitter. Despite bringing in two new additions, season two has focused on much of the same recurring drama with many cast members stuck in on-going feuds with Christie.
"BASKETBALL WIVES LA IS BORING!!!! @SHAUNIEONEAL PLEASE CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!! I JUST CAN'T," Kevin Simmons tweeted on Oct. 15.
"How bout a complete makeover?" O'Neal responded.
"I think that's fair. I can't watch a 40 year old woman manipulate these women two seasons in a row. That's boring!" Simmons tweeted.
After news broke out about the reported new changes, some cast members took to Twitter where they appeared to cryptically refute the claims.
'"Basic chicks start rumors," Laura tweeted.
"Everybody relax ... LOL ..." Bailey tweeted.
