'Bates Motel' season 4 spoilers: Norman goes psycho

The brand-new season of "Bates Motel" will be very interesting indeed, as the producers teased that there will be a major character death happening sometime in the season. This leads fans to believe that Norma, the mother of Norman, might actually die since it has been teased as the turning point for Norman.

However, it is not known who will actually kill Norma. The killer could be her own son Norman, or sheriff Romero, or someone else in the town who resents her. Romero and Norma have a romance brewing, which would really make things interesting if he did kill her.

The upcoming season will definitely showcase the transition of Norman into the psychopath that he is meant to become, and fans will finally see the more evil side of young Norman. Meanwhile, Norma and Romero might take their budding relationship to the next level in the upcoming season.

Executive producer Carlton Cuse spoke about Norman being more like his film counterpart. "For the first three seasons of the show, we have watched in a slow, progressive way his development of becoming the guy he is going to become. When the show started, for Kerry and I, he was just a kid. He was a kid who had blackouts and some issues and stuff. But at the end of the third season of the show, he really becomes unhinged in a different way he had before. That really sets up a different version of the Norman that we know from the movie," he said.

The forthcoming season will also see the continuing romance of Norman's older brother Dylan and Emma, as their relationship progresses with more sweet and intimate moments that will probably be the only normal thing happening on the show.

Actor Ryan Hurst will reprise his role as Chick the wild mountain man. In the preceding season, Chick offers a job to Dylan and his father Caleb that entails driving a truck filled with illegal guns into Canada. The job nearly gets Dylan killed, and Caleb ends up confronting Chick. Caleb beats up Chick and takes the money he and his son earned. So, it seems Chick's hell bent on revenge and this does not bode well for Dylan.

Norman will find himself inside the Pineview Sanitarium once more as he returns there next season to deal with a severe downward spiral of insanity, which will eventually lead him to become the very famous psycho.

For the first time ever, there will be no time jump between season three and four since the finale ended in a massive cliff-hanger, leaving fans with a lot of open-ended questions. There is a lot to address at the end of season three, and the new season is expected to pick up right where it left off. The new season will air sometime next year.
