Batman: Arkham Knight Game to Give the Spotlight to Villains Besides the Joker
The upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight game will shine the spotlight on other villains in the heroes rogue gallery and keep the Joker's involvement to a minimum.
Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill recently was interviewed by Game Informer and revealed that the Joker who dies at the end of Arkham City will not play a big role in the final installment of the series.
The clown prince of crime's absence will allow the other villains in Gotham City to form an alliance to try to rid the city of Batman once and for all.
He also revealed some other facts about the game including the fact that the entire city will be evacuated because of an impending chemical attack by The Scarecrow, the return of Barbara Gordon as Oracle, and that gangs will once again roam the city.
The Batman: Arkham Knight release date was leaked in a Game Stop ad earlier this week as the game will officially launch for Xbox One and PS4 on Oct. 14 of this year.
Rocksteady games and Warner Bros. studios released the official trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight on Tuesday which revealed that the game would be available before the end of this year without giving an exact date. Game Stop already has this pre-order ad made up that informs those reserving the title that they will be able to play as Harley Quinn and will gain four exclusive challenge maps.
An October release date would follow in the footsteps of Batman: Arkham Origins which launched in October 2013 and Arkham City which launched in Oct. 2011.
Rocksteady has been long-rumored to have been working on the next-gen Batman game for the Xbox One and PS4. WB Montreal took over for 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins so that Rocksteady could focus all of its efforts into the game for the new systems.
