Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer Shows Batmobile Gameplay, New Villains and More
A new Batman: Arkham Knight trailer made waves today for being the first to display Batmobile gameplay.
The most unique aspect of this last installment in the series is that it will be the first to allow players to get behind the wheel of his famous vehicle. Arkham Origins featured the Batwing, but unfortunately players weren't able to fly it as it only served as a cut sequence to make sense of Batman traveling long distances quickly.
The trailer also shows a few of the hero's villains including Two-Face and another mysterious one wielding his claws in serveral cut scenes.
A synopsis for the game's story was released earlier this year:
"Scarecrow returns to Gotham City with a scheme to unite the Rogues Gallery and destroy the Batman once and for all. As the citizens of Gotham flee and criminal gangs take control of the city Batman evens the odds taking to the streets in the legendary Batmobile to ignite the fight that will decide the future of the city that he is sworn to protect."
The game will shine the spotlight on other villains in the heroes rogue gallery and keep the Joker's involvement to a minimum.
Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill was interviewed by Game Informer earlier this year and revealed that the Joker who dies at the end of Arkham City will not play a big role in the final installment of the series. The clown prince of crime's absence will allow the other villains in Gotham City to form an alliance to try to rid the city of Batman once and for all.
Batman: Arkham City release date for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC is set for Oct. 14.
