Batman Arkham Origins: Batgirl is A Non-Playable Character, Killer Croc Villain Leaked
With the release of Batman: Arkham Origins right around the corner, more and more characters are being revealed every few days, with two names being dropped Tuesday.
One name revealed was villain Killer Croc. He had previously been in the first two games. Croc's name was accidentally leaked on an achievements list for the game and his name being used on the Soundtrack song listing.
Warner Bros. then announced that Commissioner Gordon's daughter, Barbara, will be in the game as a non-playable character. Barbara is also the woman behind the mask of Batgirl. ComingSoon.net said gamers may see the transformation into Batgirl because it is a prequel.
"In Batman: Arkham Origins, players are introduced to a teenage girl by the name of Barbara - someone who fans will later come to know as Oracle. As the daughter of police captain James Gordon, Barb meets Gotham's mysterious masked vigilante for the first time," the game's Instagram account posted.
Creators of the game said the pain focus was to introduce Robin into the game and get the pair together.
"Batman and Robin are the classic duo, and also Robin, I guess, more readily comes to mind when you think of Arkham. So that's really the reason why," Creative Director Alastair Cornish told Kotaku. "They are the dynamic duo, they hunt together. If you were to ask a typical fan on the street, not necessarily 'who would you rather play as' but 'what do you think of when you think of Batman?' Robin would generally come to mind sooner than Batgirl."
Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on Oct. 25 for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
