Batman Arkham Origins Mobile Announced at Comic Con, Coming Soon to iOS and Android (TRAILER)
Batman: Arkham Origins announced a mobile version of the game coming soon to Android and iOS, and then showed off a trailer at Comic Con.
"Play as Batman as he fights his way through Gotham City's most dangerous locales and encounters a number of DC Comics' most deadly assassins. As you progress, you'll be able to upgrade your character's skills and fighting tactics, but you'll also be able to unlock a number of unique Batsuits by earning in-game currency and rewards," Warner Bros and DC said in the YouTube trailer.
They also said for gamers who own the console version of the game, the mobile will offer special features. If the two games are connected, the Red Son Batman suit will be unlocked.
NetherRealm Studios will be creating the game.
Batman: Arkham Origins does not tell the typical Batman story, instead it bypasses the well know beginnings of the crime fighter and jumps to year two.
Many of the materials in the "Year One" story of Batman were not good scenarios for a gamer to play through. It was a lot of back-story and struggles to find out who Bruce Wayne was.
"...And we get to tell the story of the night, the series of events that forces him to evolve, to go beyond being just a vigilante who's obsessed with vengeance and stopping petty crime on the streets to the Dark Knight, the kind of guy who on any given night in Gotham may just as likely come across an assassin who's after his head for glory or money as he is a mugging of a little old lady," said Ben Mattes, WB Montreal's Senior Producer to OXM.uk.
Mattes did state some ideas from "Year One" were used, such as the relationship Batman has with the police and Captain James Gordon (not Commissioner yet). This will play an integral part in the forthcoming game.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on Oct. 25 for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
