'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' News: Netizens Contradict Critics' Bad Review of Movie

As of this writing, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" continues to prove its power at the box office. After more than a week it debuted in theaters worldwide, the movie has raked in almost $ 700 million for its worldwide gross already. Despite having been shredded to pieces by critics, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 29 percent "rotten" rating, the same thing cannot be said about the movie when it comes to how social media users view it as many who have seen the movie expressed how impressed they were with Zack Snyder's work.

"I've never seen this kind of disconnect between critical reaction and fan reaction. A lot of the conversation was about how the reviews were wrong," said Ben Carlson, founder of the social media tracking service Fizziology.

Based on the data gathered by Fizziology, 57 percent of social media users has given the film a positive rating, 33 percent neutral about it, and 10 percent opined that it was bad. The data also revealed that Batman and Wonder Woman were the two characters in the movie that were highly discussed on the Internet.

According to a review of The New York Times, producers that make the likes of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" only have a motive of expanding its power and reputation and don't really care about the entertainment value that the movie offers to its viewers. It opined that as producers expand the demand and reach of their superhero-themed movies, they become less creative in delivering the film. Vulture, on the other hand, referred to the movie as a disgrace in terms of storytelling.

Interestingly, some DC fans who have seen "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" believe that the critics were paid by Marvel to come up with bad reviews. These fans came up with a hashtag "conspiracy theory," expressing their belief that the movie was awesome, and the opinions of the critics were manipulated.

While it's true that opinions of the fans and the critics don't sync and whether critics and Marvel have, indeed, connived, one thing remains certain: "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a certified hit.
