'Batman v Superman' News: Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck Talk Batman's Hate
In the upcoming megasuperhero bout between Superman and Batman, Superman himself, Henry Cavill, discussed the reason behind the caped crusader's hatred toward the supposed hero of the masses.
According to Variety, Cavill spoke with Total Film and revealed what fueled Batman's rage, as seen in the trailers. "What happens there is one of Bruce's building gets destroyed and he's trying to save all the people inside the building and he can't," he said.
He explained that Bruce, a.k.a Batman, gets angry and questions why his people are trusting a "super-powered alien" as he fears what extreme phenomenal disasters may happen once Superman turns away from the people of Earth.
Ben Affleck also added that his Batman is a more serious and aged one who will be "harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman." This could explain why he decided to take on the Batsuit once again and make an end to what other disasters Superman may bring to humanity.
The Zack Snyder movie will revolve around the battle between the two biggest DC superheroes. As the two heroes end up battiling against each other instead of for each other in helping ease humanity from enemy attacks, a new threat will emerge and will place mankind in a position where they will question if the heroes they once knew are still worthy to be called their redeemers.
While some Batman fans are doubting if Affleck's aged Batman will pull it off in the upcoming film, he also said during the interview that he likes the idea of a solo movie, but that is, if he successfully convinces moviegoers that his Batman is worthy of their time.
Aside from the big fight between Superman and Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, who will make her debut on the big screen, will also be fighting a dangerous battle with one of Superman's enemies in the comic books, Doomsday. The antagonist is known for killing Superman in the 90s comic book "The Death of Superman."
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits the big screens on March 25, 2016.
