'Batman v Superman' News: Trailer Unmasking Explained, The Flash Making Cameo Appearance

Last week, Superman fans who believed ultimately in the heart of the prim and proper hero had their hearts broken when Warner Bros. released a trailer for the upcoming movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The trailer revealed the other side of Superman — wicked, grimacing, and super angry. Henry Cavill's Superman walks toward Ben Affleck's Batman who is chained with his hands to the roof. The red-caped hero then smiles wickedly and in a fit turns his face into an angry villain. He grabs Batman's mask by the head, pulls, and stares at the mask. Basically, the 50-seconder broke the hearts of many.

On the other hand, fans should rejoice as Michael Wilkinson has just slipped what the scene was really all about. It should be remembered that soon as the trailer was released, fans and outlets started speculating if the scene was for real or not.

During the CCXP 2015 in Brazil, the movie's costume designer slipped some news that should be enough to reclaim Superman's spot in the hearts of his fans. ComicBookMovie translated Wilkinson's interview with Omelete, to keep the world at peace.

"Zack Snyder had a great idea of this sort of nightmare-ish vision, almost a vision of the future, a post-apocalyptic vision It's like a dream that Ben has...it's sort of a way of representing the amazing amounts of...obsessive quality that Bruce Wayne has about the threat of Superman," Wilkinson explained.

It's interesting that director Snyder and his team came up with such a scene to further give fans a wider look at Wayne's personality and what fuels him to pick a fight with the Man of Steel. The new trailer then means that Affleck's aged Batman will indeed be portrayed as a man of sorrows and too many fears.

Also, in the same interview, the designer revealed that another hero will make his appearance in the movie. When asked about the rumor that The Flash will be involved somehow in the megasuperhero battle, Wilkinson said, "You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in 'Batman v Superman.'"

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits the big screens on March 25, 2016.
