'Batman vs Superman' news: Cavill weighs in on romance between Lois Lane and Wonder Woman
While the greatest battle in the history of the DC universe will shine the spotlight on Superman and Batman, a huge question may have been answered as Superman himself answers which character the red-caped hero will build a romance with in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice."
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Henry Cavill was intrigued with questions as to the love interests fans will see for Superman in the film. When asked whether it would be Lois Lane or Wonder Woman, Cavill said "This is a very long discussion because there are a lot of questions to be asked and answered."
He further explained that the question is more of a topic of a debate rather than one that needs an answer. "I mean, who is better for a super-powered alien, a human or a goddess? Yes, the goddess can do all the normal things, which we would think are normal in a relationship, and not have any fear of Superman. But you also need to have that baseline of humanity, which Lois provides. And literally keeps his feet on the ground, keeps him down to earth," he said.
Superman's greatest love in the comic books is Lois Lane, but a change was applied in the New 52 iteration of DC Comics wherein fans were surprised with a relationship between the Man of Steel and the goddess Diana.
Cavill's statement has raised speculation that the upcoming movie might portray Superman getting all the girls in town, while Batman is left to be lonely.
Meanwhile, Movie News Guide notes that Batman "has always been the ladies man and even when he is Bruce Wayne, he has always been the charming one."
Some fans then speculated that even if part of the movie may see Superman torn between two loves, Batman may end up getting the two ladies for himself at the close of "Dawn."
Until then, fans will need to wait until Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
