'Battle Girl High School' Episode 12 Spoilers: Battle Against the Wicked Tree Begins
Misaki may be a newcomer to the team, but the bonds she has formed with her fellow Hoshimori in this dimension may just be all she needs to destroy the Wicked Tree and get her sister back on the next episode of the Japanese anime series, "Battle Girl High School."
Kamin Botan, the principal at the Shinjugamine Girl's High School, was the one who found Misaki when the latter first came into their dimension. She knew from the girl's outfit and broken shield that Misaki was a Hoshimori, and that she did not belong to this universe.
This week's episode introduced the reality of the multiverse, at least in the anime series. A multiverse is a branching set of possibilities born out every choice and decision a person makes.
So when he chooses to go left, the possibility of him going right creates a brand new dimension or universe.
Misaki came from one such place following an intense battle with an Irous. She and her sister, who looked like Miku, were trapped in the space between the worlds connected to the Holy Tree. In order to save her, her sister decided to give Misaki all of her powers so that she could return and finish the fight.
But Misaki got lost in time and space and ended up in Miku's dimension instead. The teachers, along with the principal, have also figured out that a Wicked Tree, the dark counterpart of the Holy Tree, in Misaki's universe may be acting at the behest of a mysterious villain, in the same way that the Holy Tree grants its people's wishes.
But who has been controlling the Wicked Tree, and what could her end game be in the end? Why does it give her such joy to anticipate a battle between the Hoshimori from Miku's universe and the ones from Misaki's, all of whom are doppelgangers of each other?
The preview shown at the end of the episode hinted at Miku and Misaki working together to reach the Wicked Tree and free their fellow Hoshimori from the villain's control.
"Battle Girl High School" airs on Sundays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available in North America via HIDIVE.
