'Beauty and the Beast' Movie Update: Emma Watson Sends Message at Disney's D23

Apparently, making live-action movie versions of Disney' animated classics is popular right now and joining in the bandwagon is the tale as old as time "Beauty and the Beast." The release of the musical romantic fantasy is still years away from now but fans have already been given an exciting sneak peek at the recently held Disney D3 Expo.

The cast has also been revealed and first on the line is Emma Watson who will play as the bookish Disney Princess, Belle. Watson, who is shooting for the movie in London, couldn't make it to the Disney event but the actress was sure to send her love to "Beauty and the Beast" fans attending the convention in Anaheim, California.

"We have had an unbelievable time shooting beauty and the beast. It has been a complete dream come true. I can't wait for the film to release in 2017," she said in the video clip.

Joining Watson in the cast for the live-action adaption of the 1991 animated movie are Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and many more.

Fans who were present in the convention also got to exclusively see some footage from "Beauty and the Beast." According to MTV, Watson was seen in a yellow dress which means that the live-action take will stick close as possible to the iconic looks from the animated versions.

Watson also showed another clip of actors Evans and Gad singing "Gaston," as reported by TheWrap. The actors are reported to be singing several songs from the animated version of the film, but they will also get a few original tunes.The movie is directed by Bill Condon and written by Stephen Chbosky, and together they bring the classic fairy tale to life with new music from Alan Menken and Sir Tim Rice.

"Beauty and the Beast" will be officially arriving in theatres on March 17, 2017.
