"BeBe Winans is a huge addition to our Board of Advisors," said the founder, chairman and CEO at Truli, Michael Jay Solomon, in a statement released in mid-Agugst.

"He is a preeminent name in Gospel music and we are thrilled to now have his counsel regarding the expansion of Truli's Gospel music collection, as well as his help in guiding more African American ministries and users, plus church throughout Africa, to Truli," Solomon added.

As for his own reaction to being named among Truli's Board of Advisors, Winans expressed optimistic enthusiasm.

"I'm excited to contribute to the growth of Truli," he said in a statement. "Michael [Solomon] has created a unique platform where people from all walks of life can share spirituality and social good through music, videos and sermons, and I'm eager to work with him and the other Advisory Board members in leading it to further success."

The R&B and gospel singer is a member of the Winans family in which most members are also gospel artists, including BeBe's sister CeCe Winans.

Furthermore, Winans is a six-time Grammy Award winner. The singer, songwriter and producer has also earned several Dove, Stellar, NAACP Awards and a Soul Train Award.

Along with his sister CeCe, Winans has topped charts with gospel songs that include "Heaven," "I'm Lost Without You," and "I'll Take You There," among many others.

As an actor, Winans credits include the BET Gospel singing competition series, Sunday Best, 2004's film "The Manchurian Candidate," and the stage play "The Color Purple."

Meanwhile, Winans has also been named in headlines relating to the 50th celebration of the March on Washington alongside Jamie Foxx and Oprah Winfrey, according to CBS News.

The celebrities are among several other high-profile individuals signed up to help mark the celebration known as the "Let Freedom Ring" commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

Soledad O'Brien and Hill Harper will host the "Let Freedom Ring" event, while President Barack Obama and former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter will serve as keynote speakers.

The event is open to the public and will begin Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. EST at the Lincoln Memorial.
