Bee Gees Cursed? Robin Gibbs Mother Thinks So
The passing of Bee Gees founder Robin has brought about emotional commentary from leading musicians and fans as thousands offer their sympathies to a family that has experienced tragedy several times.
The tragic deaths of a number of the family members have even led some cynics to suggest that the family is cursed.
Barbara Gibb, the mother of Bee Gees founder Robin, has been one of those to come out and say that the misfortunes the Gibb's family has endured was due to a curse. And even before his own untimely death Robin also expressed concern over the idea of a family curse.

Robin Gibb told a British newspaper several months before his death that he often believed that he and his family were paying some kind of "karmic price" for the riches and successes of the Bee Gees.
This will be the third time that the mother of five will have to lay to rest one of her sons. The first of the Gibb family to fall was Andy Gibb who died in 1988 at the age of 30 from a heart attack.
Robin's twin and member of the Bee Gees, Maurice, died of acute intestinal complications in 2003. Robin passed away yesterday after a long battle with colon cancer.
The Bees Gees were able to amaze their fans with exceptional songwriting and near perfect vocals and were known for dazzling fans during their rise in what is known as the "disco era."
Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr said Monday that Robin Gibb and the Bee Gees left an enduring musical legacy.
"God bless him and God bless his family," Starr said. "The Bee Gees from our era were quite important, especially the harmonies. I didn't know him that well, I knew Maurice more than the other two, but he had a great voice and they wrote great songs."
The family has made no public announcements as to when funeral services will be held and they are asking for privacy while they mourn.
