Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Sitcom, 'More Time With Family,' to Be Produced for CBS
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will executive produce a comedy sitcom for CBS titled "More Time With Family." The show stars comedian Tom Papa as a stand-up comic who abandons his hardworking routine to spend more time with his family, even though they didn't want him to.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's latest comedy sitcom is the product of Damon's time collaborating with Papa on films "The Informant!" and "Behind the Candelabra." Damon then brought in Affleck, who owns Pearl Street Films, who is taking on more television series.
The two Hollywood stars have brought in some experienced talent to run "More Time With Family" too.
Husband and wife team Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith of "The King of Queens" are co-writing the half hour sitcom. Papa will most likely influence the comedy as well, as he has worked on comedy "Come To Papa" for NBC in 2004, "The Marriage Ref," "Analyze That" and done stand-up comedy.
Affleck and Damon met with various writers for the project, and there was also a "bidding war" for the sitcom as well, Deadline reported.
The two actors also worked together to bring "Project Greenlight" to HBO and "Push, Nevada" to ABC.
Currently "More Time With Family" is scheduled to produce a pilot, but there is no word yet on whether the series will be picked up permanently.
