Ben & Jerry Pint Lock Will Protect Your Ice Cream

Ice cream lovers rejoice! There is a new tool to help your protect your ice cream from being eaten by others. Ben & Jerry's is now selling an ice cream lock that will allow you to sleep well, knowing that your ice cream is protected from those seeking a late-night snack.

Gizmodo magazine describes the lock as "an idea from one of their fans" that enables you to set a code to protect your ice cream from invaders. In the grand tradition of Ben & Jerry's names, the lock itself is called Ben & Jerry's Euphori-Lock and features the phrase, "I'm terribly sorry, but there is no 'u' in 'my pint.'"

Fans are already lining up to purchase the item and rave about its cleverness.

"Ben & Jerry's now selling a combination lock to stop others sneaking a spoonful of your ice cream. $7 well spent," tweeted Simon Waugh.

"The Ben & Jerry's ice cream padlock remains our favorite discovery of the day!" added Stylist Magazine.

Ben & Jerry's has over 50 flavors of ice cream, not counting their Greek or original yogurt or sorbet. It is one of the most well-known ice cream makers in the country, having been around since 1978. In 1983, the company provided the ice cream for "the world's largest ice cream sundae" which weighs over 27,000 pounds.

The company also considers itself to be on the forefront of activism, has dedicated flavors to various organizations and ideologies. Fossil Fuel ice cream was born out of the idea to protest drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The flavor was then used to build a 900-pound Baked Alaska dessert that was delivered to the U.S. Capital and placed on its lawn.

Since then, Ben & Jerry has partnered with Stephen Colbert and the Fair Trade organization to promote sustainable resources throughout the world.
