Ben Flajnik: Courtney Robertson 'Had Me Fooled'
"The Bachelor" star Ben Flajnik revealed that he regrets proposing to season 16 winner Courtney Robertson, and claimed that the former contestants who criticized the model were right all along.
Flajnik, 30, and Robertson, 29, recently ended their engagement after a only few months together and she wasted no time moving on- she was seen kissing "Bachelorette" runner-up Arie Luyendyk, 31, just one week later. Robertson has since confirmed that she is now dating the auto racing driver.
"I should apologize to all those women and say, 'Sorry I didn't see it,'" Ben told Life & Style magazine. "I really have lost all respect for this person that I thought I knew and that I was in love with at one point."
Robertson became widely unpopular among her fellow season 16 "Bachelor" contestants for her catty behavior; at one point she admitted to being on the ABC dating show "to win," which did not sit well with critics. Despite being constantly criticized by the other women, she still managed to win Flajnik's heart during the final rose ceremony.
"She just had me fooled," Flajnik explained. "I talk to my friends all the time and they're like, 'Maybe she was just really good at it. She got all of us fooled, too, Ben. You weren't the only one.'"
Robertson claims that while she was ready to settle down with Flajnik, he was not. She had allegedly made plans to move to San Francisco to start a life with him, "but he was all like, 'I just turned 30, and I'm not ready,'" she claimed.
"I was miserable with Ben; he treated me so badly," Robertson added.
Robertson was photographed returning the $80,000 3-carat engagement ring that she received from Flajnik shortly after their split. Days later, she was photographed on a date with Luyendyk, sparking criticisms that the new couple may not be genuine.
"I didn't want to jump from one public relationship to another but Arie and I get along, and I'm not going to let that get away," she said. "Arie makes me laugh so hard, and he's adorable, so I'm going with it!"
Meanwhile Flajnik, who is a successful wine maker, is moving forward with his life by throwing himself into work. He recently landed his very own reality TV show with the E! network.
"It will be about the day-to-day business of the company. Both from the wine-making and the marketing angles," a source reportedly told Wetpaint.com.
"Ben's friends and his sisters will be part of the show, too," the insider added. "His personal life will be part of it."
