Best-Selling 'Walking the Bible' to be Aired Nationwide on PBS
The PBS network will be airing the ground-breaking documentary miniseries "Walking the Bible" nationwide early next year
Based on the best-selling book by Bruce Feiler, the three-hour miniseries from TMC Entertainment was produced in 2004 in high-definition video and will take viewers through the places and stories of the Bible beginning Jan. 4, 2006.
The adventure, archaeological and spiritual story describes Feiler's 10,000-mile odyssey through five countries and the first five books of the Bible, following the paths of Moses, Isaac, Jacob and the Israelites. Feiler takes the road of these biblical heroes by foot, Jeep, rowboat and camel for a year-long trek which TMC crafted into 200 hours of footage.
PBS will air the travels on three consecutive Wednesdays Jan. 4, 11, and 18 at 8:00 p.m. (local time).
Hailed as an instant classic by The Washington Post, Walking the Bible has also spent over a year on the New York Times bestseller list.
Feiler also gives readers the first-ever interfaith portrait of Abraham in his book Abraham. His personal quest to better understand Abraham, the shared ancestor of Jews, Christians and Muslims, takes Feiler through war zones and ancient shrines. This story is currently in production from TMC Entertainment.
