Bethenny Frankel Divorce Details: Reality Star Wants Child Support, Life Insurance
Bethenny Frankel recently filed for divorce from Jason Hoppy and a new report claims that the syndicated talk show host is requesting primary physical custody of their daughter among other things.
Frankel, who is said to be worth between $25 million and $55 million, reportedly filed legal documents asking that Hoppy, her husband of two years, pay for child support for the pair's two-year-old daughter Brynn.
In addition the 42-year-old also wants Hoppy, a 40-year-old real estate agent, to cover all medical, dental, optical, therapeutic, and orthodontic expenses for both her and her daughter, according to TMZ.
The "Bethenny Ever After" star reportedly also wants life insurance that would make her and Brynn beneficiaries.
"This is a preliminary step to move the process forward. She wants to work this out privately and amicably. All Bethenny cares about is that it works out the best way possible for Bryn," a source told TMZ.
Fortunately for the Skinny Girl founder, a judge is likely to enforce the couple's prenuptial agreement which was allegedly signed 5 days before their 2010 wedding nuptials.
The divorce bombshell follows months of speculation that the pair was facing marital woes. Frankel previously denied that they were having problems, however, shortly before Christmas she confessed that they had separated.
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating," Frankel, 42, had said in a public statement Dec. 23. "This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family."
Since Frankel confirmed the couple's split, fans of the reality TV stars have been speculating the reasons behind their abrupt separation. The pair was often seen bickering on their hit Bravo TV reality show and some viewers suspect that Frankel's apparent need for constant control may have ultimately cost Frankel her marriage.
"[Bethenny] thinks [Jason] is too critical of her, and he thinks his wife can be a control freak," a source told Radar Online.
