Bethenny Frankel Divorce: 'Marriage Doesn't Come Easily for Me'
As Bethenny Frankel ends her marriage to Jason Hoppy, past interviews have revealed that the split may have been a long time coming.
The "Bethenny Ever After" star announced that she and her husband of almost three years were separating on Sunday. The 42-year-old shares daughter Bryn, 2, with Hoppy.
While their marriage was long rumored to be on the rocks, many of Frankel's fans were surprised by news of the divorce.

Another reason the split was not a complete shock was because Frankel revealed her marital struggles in past interviews.
"Nothing comes easily for me," the "Skinnydipping" author told People magazine in May. "Being successful in business doesn't come easy for me. Marriage doesn't come easily for me. You have to fight for everything."
Furthermore, Frankel discussed her marriage with Hoppy at the time.
"Our core issues are wanting the other person to be somebody they are not," said the mother-of-one. "Jason is more balanced. He doesn't want to work 24 hours a day. He wants to play golf and go out with his friends."
At one point, Frankel even compared the problems with her marriage to "a scab you keep picking at," according to People magazine.
"The irony is, we chose each other for who the person is, and then sometimes you want it both ways," the reality television star concluded.
In her statement about the split, Frankel said that 2012 has been she and Hoppy's "toughest year ever."
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating," said Frankel in Sunday's statement. "This was an extremely difficult decision as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family."
"We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority," she added. "This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
Although they are separating, a source close to the CEO of Skinnygirl cocktails revealed that Frankel nor Hoppy was unfaithful.
"No one cheated," said the insider speaking to Us Weekly. "They're both devastated."
As for why the couple is breaking up, the source said the differences between them grew too strong.
"They really tried," said the insider at Us Weekly. "They grew apart. She is very upset."
