'Better Call Saul' Season 2 Spoilers: Teaser Trailer And Photos Give A Glimpse Into Jimmy's Struggle
There's less than two months to go before the premiere of "Better Call Saul" Season 2 and by the looks of things, fans of the show will be seeing Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) struggle between completing the transition to his "Breaking Bad" alter ego or staying on the conservative path.
In one teaser photo for the new season, Jimmy can be seen standing before a rack of suits, perhaps trying to decide whether to go with the traditional dark-colored pieces on one side or the more off-beat multicolored suits on the other. The image, says Entertainment Weekly, is a visual representation of the character's inner struggle. Should he choose the somber-looking suits and stay on the straight path or go with the more adventurous sartorial styles for which the "Breaking Bad" criminal lawyer Saul Goodman was known?
Another image shows Jimmy standing in an elevator with Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks). The two may have become allies by the end of Season 1, but in the photo, they don't look too happy to be standing next to each other.
The first season of "Better Call Saul" ended with Jimmy leaving an interview with a reputable law firm and driving away while humming "Smoke on the Water." When Season 2 airs, which suit will Jimmy be wearing? Will he return to the courthouse and have his name changed to Saul Goodman? Will he finally embrace his dark side?
"Better Call Saul" co-creator Peter Gould gave a hint about what the character will do in Season 2. After the Season 1 finale, he said, "You're gonna see what happens when Jimmy lives his own way." He went on: "He's been living Chuck's way, he's been living Kim's way — what's it like when Jimmy lives his way, and does that mean he's now Saul Goodman?"
The second season of "Better Call Saul" premieres on Feb. 15 at 10 p.m. EST on AMC.
