Beyonce and Jay-Z Skip Grammys For Pizza Date?
Fans of the musical couple Beyonce and Jay-Z probably noticed that the pair was absent from Sunday night's Grammy Awards. So where were they?
Although both Beyonce and husband Jay-Z were nominated for a Grammy, the pair opted for a more relaxed night out with one another at a pizzeria in Brooklyn, Us Weekly reported.
The extravagant couple reportedly took a Maybach from their home in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood to the posh pizzeria, Lucali, in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn.
Beyonce, 30, and Jay-Z, 42, left their now 1-month-old daughter Blue Ivy at home and "were just like a regular couple talking and whatnot," a witness told Us Weekly, adding that other patrons didn't even notice the celebrity couple. "They were sitting in front of the place closer to where they make the pizza."
The "Crazy in Love" singer Beyonce said goodbye to the waitress and the pizzeria's owner as she left, the insider added.
Jay-Z actually won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance for "Otis" with partner in crime, rapper Kanye West, from their collaborative album "Watch the Throne." West did not attend the show, either.
On Friday night, the couple delighted fans by posting pictures of Blue Ivy on their new blog site, HelloBlueIvyCarter, taking a more unique route to revealing the first ever pictures of their newborn.
"We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family," reads a note accompanying the photos.
"B really really thought about this," a close friend of the couple, stylist June Ambrose, told the magazine on Saturday, "and she really wanted to do it this way. She just couldn't imagine selling pictures of her baby."
Ambrose added that the pictures are "accurate."
"A girl with big full lips, she'll be a supermodel. I can't wait! And her eyes -- she's gorgeous!"
