The Grammy award-winning artist was photographed bonding with baby Blue throughout her birthday. She previously opened up about her journey into motherhood in an interview with Vogue magazine.
"She's my road dog, She's my homey, my best friend," Beyonce said of her and Jay Z's only child Blue Ivy.
"I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more. Family has always been important. I've always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it's just ... Life is so much more than ... It's not defined by any of this," she explained.
Jay Z, 43, also spoke about becoming a first time father in a July interview with New York radio station Power 105.1.
"I hope I'm great, but I'm learning. It's a new thing for me," the hip-hop mogul told the Breakfast Club.
"[Fatherhood] has changed me in a way that ... just knowing what's important ... but I had a pretty good sense of that. It just reaffirmed all things that I believed I knew," he continued, adding "It's hard man, it's difficult."
In a rare show of emotion, the Grammy-award winning artist opens up about his daughter on track twelve, "Jay-Z Blue."
"This song is toying with the idea of it being on Heaven or Hell on earth. My idea of being on Heaven is in your daughter's laughter. Hell could be if your child's missing for three minutes; you're in three minutes of Hell," he said in a YouTube video.
"It deals with when my pop left when I was young. He didn't teach me how to be a man, nor how to raise a child, nor treat a woman," the rapper explained. "So, of course, my karma: the two things I need, I don't have — and I have a daughter. It's the paranoia of not being a great dad."
