Beyonce Doesn't Have to Be 'Showing Out Grinding All The Time,' Actress Says
Garcelle Beauvais may believe that Beyonce should take responsibility for her image, which might be too much for kids to take in.
Beauvais, the 47-year-old actress, spoke about being viewed as a sex symbol and used that opportunity to speak about the importance of being classy.
"I think you have to stick to a body part and show that. I don't think you have to show all of it. As I get older, I still want to be sexy, but I want to do it in a different way," Beauvais told HelloBeautiful.com recently. "I want to do it in a way that's more classy. Certain things are just too overt for kids."
She went on to speak about Beyonce, the 32-year-old singer, taking more responsibility for her image.
"I love Beyonce. I love her. I think she's beautiful and talented. But, I think there has to be a fine line where you have to take responsibility for what you do," Beauvais told HelloBeautiful.com. "I think it's good to be sexy, but sexy can come across in so many different ways. It doesn't have to be everything showing out grinding, all of the time."
Last year Beyonce opened up about why she decided to reveal a side of herself that is not suitable for children on her self-titled fifth album release.
"Now I'm in my 30s, and those children that grew up listening to me have grown up, and I always felt like it was my responsibility to be aware of kids and their parents and all these generations," Beyonce says in her "Self-Titled Part 5. Honesty," documentary obtained by E! News. "I felt stifled and I felt like, in a sense, I could not express everything. I've done so many things in my life, in my career, that I feel like at this point I've earned the right to be me and to express any and every side of myself."
