Beyonce 'Forced' Into Showbiz by Father? Uncle, Beyince, Claims Singer Wanted to 'Be Normal'
Beyonce was reportedly guided into music by her father but never wanted to be famous, the singer's alleged uncle claims.
The Grammy award-winning star, 31, first began singing as a child. Larry Beyince, who claims to be Beyonce's uncle, alleges the singer has held resentment toward her father over her lost childhood.
"She didn't want to be famous. She just wanted to be a normal child. She loved to watch cartoons and be with her friends. She was forced into singing," Beyince reportedly told Celebuzz.com.
"It took away her whole childhood. Everything was geared toward being famous. She used to get angry at [her father] a lot for taking away her childhood. That affected her," he added.
Beyoncedid mak headlines in 2011 when she abruptly fired her father, who acted as her manager for over two decades. However, various reports attributed their alleged rift to Matthew's affair, not his guiding of her into the music industry initially. At 62, he fathered a child with another woman despite having been married to Beyonce's mother Tina, 59, for 29 years.
"I wasn't surprised she fired him [as her manager]. I'm glad, actually," Beyince, who has not confirmed his link to the Knowles, said. "He wanted her to be famous and rich so he could be rich," he added.
The dubious reports from Beyince pale in comparison to Matthew Knowles affair, which was widely publicized at the time. It could have been the actual catalyst for Beyonce leaving his management.
In 2010 Matthew, who divorced Beyonce's mother Tina in 2009, fathered a baby boy with Alexsandra Wright, a woman 20 years his junior. Subsequently, Beyonce ended her relationship with him "on a business level" although she eventually stopped speaking to him altogether, according to The New York Post.
"My soul has been tarnished," Beyonce said in her "Life Is But a Dream" documentary regarding her decision to part ways professionally with her father.
Tina and Beyonce have always maintained a close bond and the singer was reportedly devastated after learning that Matthew reportedly had an 18-month-long affair with Wright, 38, during his marriage.
"Beyonce was horrified to find out her dad cheated on her mom. She always looked up to him, and she is very close to her mom, so this has hit her really hard," a source had told The New York Post ahead of Matthew's termination.
"She is refusing to speak to him, which is making things difficult where it comes to managing her career. Some people at Columbia [records] now think it would be better to move him aside," the source continued.
