Beyonce and Jay Z recently took Blue Ivy to church in Paris and photos of the outing were shared online on Friday.

The couple, fresh off of their "On The Run" tour, enjoyed some downtime in the French capital after wrapping up their tour last week. Beyonce, 33, took to her personal website to share photos taken from inside what appears to be a cathedral.

In one shot, two-year-old Blue Ivy and Beyonce are seen checking out an organ and in another the mommy-daughter duo hold hands with Jay Z before a bank of prayer candles. Jay Z is seen casually posing alone in a third photo.

Beyonce, who is openly Christian, recalled one of her earliest childhood experiences with prayer in a recent poem.

The poem, entitled "Bey The Light," was "remixed" by award-winning poet and novelist Forrest Gander.

"I saw a TV preacher once when I was scared, at four or five, about bad dreams, who promised he'd say a prayer - if I put my hand to the TV. That's the first time I remember prayer, an electric current humming through me," she shared in the September issue of CR Fashion Book.

In her poem, she alludes to being on a mission from God that is spiritual and far greater than singing.

She acknowledges that her music has made a significant impact on the world and credits God for her ability to touch so many people.

"You call me a singer, but I'm called to transform, to suck up the grief, anxiety and loss of those who hear me into my song's form. I'm a vessel for all that isn't right, for break-ups and lies and double-cross. I sing into that vessel a healing light," she writes. "To let go of pain that people can't bear. I don't do that myself, I call in the light. I summon God to take me there."

The CR Fashion Book shoot was photographed by Pierre Debusschere and directed by fashion designer, Riccardo Tisci.
