Beyonce Lip-Syncing at Inauguration Confirmed; Will She Lip-Sync During Super Bowl?
Beyonce Knowles caused a debate when some questioned whether she was lip-syncing the National Anthem at the presidential Inauguration ceremony and while reported sources from her camp are admitting that she did, some are wondering how she will handle her Super Bowl halftime performance.
After a Master Sergeant in the U.S Marine Corps Band said Knowles sang to a pre-recorded track during her recent performance, fans and media outlets offered mixed reactions. A source reportedly close to the 31-year-old singer told Us Magazine that the speculation about her live singing was valid.
According to the publication's source, Knowles thought lip-syncing during the highly publicized Inauguration ceremony was the right decision.

"She didn't think there was anything wrong with it," the reported source told Us Weekly. "Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story."
While the source said Knowles sang along with the recorded track, the individual defended her decision to do so.
"Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track," the source told Us Weekly. "A technicality which everybody does took away from the beauty of the moment."
Now that Knowles is gearing up to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb 3, some people are already speculating about her choice to sing live. Mike Stevens, vocal chair at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, told ABC News that there is a good chance that the Grammy Award-winning singer will sing to a pre-recorded track during her upcoming performance.
"It's very difficult to sing and dance at the same time," Stevens said. "So I would not be surprised if she lip-syncs."
Knowles' lip-syncing fiasco made headlines after Master Sgt. of the U.S. Marine Corps Band Kristin Dubois spoke to The Washington Post about the singer's performance of "The Star Spangled Banner" Monday.
"All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day," DuBois told The Washington Post. "We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyoncé was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don't know what the reason why."
