Beyonce Pregnant: VMA Announcement by 'Love on Top' Diva (Video)

Beyoncé made a shock announcement Sunday night at MTV’s annual VMAs. The singer revealed that she is pregnant following a performance of her new song “Love on Top."

The singer became one of the highlights of the show, having shown off her baby bump prior to going on stage. However, it was her stage performance that solidified that she was indeed pregnant.

Prior to singing her energetic song she announced to the audience, “Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet – I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me!”

Following the song, Beyoncé removed her jacket, smiled, and rubbed her stomach.

The crowd went wild and father to be, Jay-Z, was spotted beaming in the crowd with Kanye West. He was clapping while Kayne proceeded to congratulate him.

MTV tweeted, “OMG Beyoncé just made a huge announcement on the #vma carpet! #baby!!!!!”

A rep for Beyoncé has confirmed the happy news.

A native Texan, Beyoncé is one of the most honored artists by the Grammys and she has sold more than 25 million singles in the United States.

Back in June, Beyoncé told CNN, “I always said I would have a baby at 30.” She also added, “I was going to retire at 30.”

The singer will turn 30 this coming September.

In 2009 Jay-Z said on the Oprah Winfrey show of his marriage to Beyoncé, “When you live your life so out in the public, then your music and life are on display, however, you need to separate from it. You can’t be in that light all the time. You need some type of escape from it. And that’s one thing that is sacred and not in the public eye.”

This will be the first child for the power couple that has been married since 2008.
