Beyonce Recorded 80 Songs For New Album
Beyonce may have recently released a visual album with 17 videos and 14 songs, but the chart topping singer is revealing that she recorded 80 songs for the project.
Beyonce, the 32-year-old singer, recently opened up about her album making process in an informational video for her album called "Part 3 Run 'N Gun." In the video, the singer explained the process for creating her album.
"When I started picking the songs that I gravitated towards, because I recorded about 80 songs, it was the songs that were more effortless for me that stuck around that I still love that I loved a year ago when I recorded them," she said.
Still, she previously admitted that she was nervous to release her album without any previous promotion or advertising.
"I was terrified. I was so scared. I already envisioned like the worst things that could happen," Beyonce said at the School of Visual Arts in New York screening for her new music videos. "I was really nervous because this was a huge risk."
It seems the risk paid off and Beyonce managed to sell one million records of the brand new album that she surprised her fans and critics with alike. Billboard is predicting that the album will become a top ten selling contender before the end of the year.
Before releasing her self titled fifth album, Beyonce had not released a new project since 2011.
Beyonce described how challenging it was to surprise her fans with the new work that she waited so long to release.
"Honestly I was at a point where I felt like, you know, everything feels the same ... that's how I felt and if I could not challenge that, then maybe it's time for me to do something else or develop more artists, which is something I want to do," she told fans and colleagues at the screening. "I just hope that I continue to move forward and challenge myself, and I think now that I've become a mother, I just want my legacy to inspire people."
