Beyonce Reveals Why She Took Blue Ivy On Tour

Beyonce Knowles, the 32-year-old singer and mother to Blue Ivy Carter, recently revealed how important it was to make her daughter a part of her tour experience.

During a pre-concert press conference for her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour stop Fortaleza, Brazil, she spoke about bringing her one-year-old daughter along for the ride.

"It's really interesting because I'm touring with my daughter for the first time. My dream has always been to balance my life and career," Beyonce revealed at the press conference, according to theybf.com. "I think it's the one thing that women struggle with because it's so difficult having a career and being a mother."

However, the singer revealed why she took so much pride in the experience.

"But when I'm able to travel to places like Brazil, it makes me so proud that she's able to experience these different cultures and meet all these interesting people and eat amazing food at such a young age," she revealed. "It makes me really proud of my job."

Beyonce recently served as the covergirl for the Z Lifestyle magazine and spoke about her role as a mother, calling it her top priority.

"I'm a very protective person. I want to make sure that my daughter has a healthy, safe, normal life…she's my top priority," Beyonce told Z Lifestyle magazine. "Life's completely different now. I'm still incredibly happy to be able to do what I love, but now, everything has more meaning. Life's about being a mother."

This is not the first time Beyonce has opened up about her role as a mother. Earlier this year, the singer spoke about encouraging her one-year-old daughter.

"I'm telling my daughter every day, you know you can be president, you know it's possible," she said in a "Chime For Change" video. "I know she has no idea why I'm saying that, but at one year old, I'm like, you know you can be president."
